joined a gym this week for two years. i've never been able to get the stupid dvd player on the treadmills to work correctly. ran 6k monday night at 12 kmph (my right quad was still sore from sat and sun frisbee...kinda sad because sat, all i did was throw, but i did do a lot of low forehand breaks). tues morning, did movement prep a and b, prehab core, hips, elasticity from weeks 4-6 of last year. the hot guy in the room doing yoga/some type of forms for martial arts didn't hurt either. right, so my legs felt really good and i was totally amped for pickup wednesday night. but then i finally decided to go to the doctor on the company's tab to see if i couldn't beat this sore throat once and for all. the guy gave me some sketchy pills that basically made me feel like i had a full on cold. put me into zombie mode for the rest of the week. nothing but eating and sleeping...surviving off lozenges, muesli, and fruit (and the odd curry). this morning, finally dragged myself to the gym again, but only ran 2 miles (but at 13 kmph)...i was all set to do a fast 5k while watching the patriots win the superbowl (on dvd), but the dvd player crapped out. and then my ipod crapped out. at least there were a lot of mirrors so i could watch myself run. tonight, gonna try to make it back in time for the 7:30 body combat class.

conceptually, the difference between 2 miles and 3 miles is nothing. 8 min of running is nothing, child's play. next time you want to quit at two miles, remember that. you can't even buy a fucking coffee in 8 min, and that's that. haha, but apparently i can chant the multiplication table in under 2 min. that's how bored i was. i almost did it twice.
