longwinded and dull. read at your own risk.

i always forget about the stage of ankle recovery where everything's pretty much fine, but you've forgotten how to put weight on it. my agility has taken a major hit--i'm reluctant to put on the brakes or change directions hard on that ankle...now i'm stuttter stepping, which is not how i cut.

played some lazy d last night so kristin touched the disc a lot more than she should've...i'm not used to playing in the cold anymore...i did have a very nice 30 yard hammer to exactly the right space in the endzone. the guy dropped it (to a collective groan from us and heckling from them), but i'm very proud of myself for throwing it. also, i think i handblocked about 50% of kristin's throws...my hand was hurting by the time we were done.

i gotta work on breaking with the around backhand without traveling (i io flick almost exclusively). all of these things that require more thought need to be thought about and then done without thinking about them.

the ankle is healing well. ran on sat, stubb's road, up to bowen road (we couldn't find the stairs we were supposed to take, so we ended up following the road itself, which is suicidal...there's no sidewalk for a section where the cars are coming around the corner blind), then up wanchai gap road (we actually walked this), and then black's link to parkview (i walked most of the last uphill to parkview too). i could definitely feel the impact in the ankle, also the brace gave me a shortened gait, so running felt a bit weird (especially the downhills). the entire thing took us an hour and five minutes (probably around 5 miles), and today, a lot of random stabilizer muscles on the sides of my quads are sore.

also, disc'd on sunday...i was gonna take it easy so i wore sneakers, didn't wear contacts, a bunch of things just to remind myself that i wasn't really playing ulti. the field was nice and muddy which made for plenty of slip and slide. the ankle felt really good. the elbow also felt good. i threw 2 long flicks for completions, had a really nice io break, and another leading flick that floated just enough for the up-the-line cut to catch it in stride. also got a point block on kristin. good times. i've got the go ahead from doug to cleat up for wednesday, and if that goes well, i can wear heels to work agian. yippee!
